FAQs
(Q1) Can I order anytime?
(A1) Yes. You can order online 24/7 with Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express, credit or debit cards.
(Q2) When do I get the results?
(A2) Instantly. Any records matching the name and date of birth you provide will appear immediately for you to print and/or copy and save.
(Q3) I know I pay for the My Better Judgment™ search with a credit or debit card, but how do I know that’s safe?
(A3) Rest assured your confidential transactions are secured by the best SSL (secure socket layer) encryption available and are processed via a system that has been certified and is compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
(Q4) Do I have to get permission from the individual on whom I'm doing the My Better Judgment™ search?
(A4) No permission is needed. Over 400 hundred million city, county, state, national and international criminal public records are searched.
(Q5) What does adjudication withheld mean? Nolle prosequi (nolle prosse, nolle pros, nol pros)?
(A5) Adjudication withheld is a form of conditional probation wherein the defendant usually enters a plea of guilty and the judge agrees NOT to enter it into the public records with certain conditions (i.e. that the defendant comply with probation, anger management classes, controlled substance rehabilitation programs, payment of fines, etc.).
Nolle prosequi (nolle prosse, nolle pros , nol pros) is Latin for "we shall no longer prosecute," which is a declaration made to the judge by a prosecutor in a criminal case (or by a plaintiff in a civil lawsuit) either before or during trial, meaning the case against the defendant is being dropped. Reasons for doing so are many. It could be the charges cannot be proved, or the evidence has demonstrated either innocence or a fatal flaw in the prosecution's claim, or the district attorney has become convinced the accused is innocent. So, for whatever reason, the case was dropped.
(Q6) The individual on whom I did the My Better Judgment™ search swears the record(s) found are not his/hers. Can I assume that all of the record information found is 100% accurate?
(A6) No. We have no control over the content of a criminal record. We provide the content of that record based on the name and date of birth you provide. Any records found come from city, county, state, national and international criminal databases that might not always be complete, or up-to-date. Data from these sources could have been entered incorrectly, not at all, or simply processed incorrectly. As such, proceed with caution and use care in relying on any record as 100%, absolute proof. Use records found as possible “red flags” and a starting point for further investigation if desired. Even with a result of "No Record Found" the individual in question could still have a criminal record.
(Q7) I don't understand the record(s) found. What do I do?
(A7) Please send an email with your question(s) to help@mybetterjudgment.net and we will respond within 24 hours. Please put the Request ID associated with the report in question in the subject line of the email.
(Q8) If there is no record found do I get a refund?
(A8) No. Whether or not a record was found, we have paid for and done the work necessary to access criminal records controlled by city, county, state, national and international criminal databases based on what we can only assume is accurate name and date of birth information supplied by you.
(Q9) My computer crashed before I could print or copy and save the report. What do I do?
(A9) No worries. Send an email to help@mybetterjudgment.net with the Request ID number located in your emailed receipt of the search in question and within 24 hours we will email the recovered search results to the email address you used to place the order. Please put the Request ID number in the subject line.
